As I have done a few paintings with the boats as the focal point in this scene, I decided to concentrate on the cliffs for a change, as the colours and texture were calling me! This was Chosen for me to paint by the people of facebook land for me to paint.I really enjoy this, as deciding on the subject, can be a barrier to going a painting at all! so thank you to all who help with this. - Mark

After I had painted the colour study from the computer monitor the night before, which emulates painting from life, I had the best reference I could get as printed photos of sunsets can be a bit dead. Using the colour study I sized up the painting to 24 x 12 ins for better impact. 

Now its the school holidays and i am gona have my little angel around a lot more, its tricky to fine some piece and quiet to paint, and the one thing my boy isn't, is quiet!!! but where there's a will there's a way! so more into the night painting and less sleep.
